Two Indian Border Security Force (BSF) personnel were seriously injured and their weapons snatched by Bangladeshi farmers in a field along the India-Bangladesh border in West Bengal. More than a hundred Bangladeshi farmers were stopped by Indian BJF personnel from working in a field close to the border, which triggered a clash between the Indian BSF personnel and Bangladeshi farmers near Nirmalchar in West Bengal.
BSF personnel of border outpost Nirmalchar stopped Bangladeshi farmers from bringing their cattle to the fields near border.“Immediately, more than a hundred Bangladesh farmers entered the Indian side and attacked the BSF personnel with sticks and sharp-edged weapons,” a BSF spokesperson for South Bengal frontier headquartered in Kolkata claimed. Two BSF personnel were seriously injured in the attack that took place under the Berhampore sector in Murshidabad district, he said. The spokesperson said the attackers fled to Bangladesh after snatching the weapons of the troops.
