The Pakistani rupee on Monday achieved a slight gain against the US dollar as it appreciated by 16 paisas to reach Rs220.50 at the start of trading in the interbank market. Earlier, on Friday last, the vigorous US dollar did not show any sign of receding as its value continued to appreciate and was up by Rs1.25 in the interbank trading. According to the forex dealers, with the start of Friday morning activity, the greenback kept up its upward trajectory in the interbank trading and by the end of the day it added Rs1.25 to its value and closed at Rs220.66.
