Pakistan can get better socio-economic connectivity by transforming its economic activities to the digital platforms. The digital economy will also help tie knots between Pakistani and international trade and business communities, Moazzam Ghurki, President of Pakistan-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI), told WealthPK. He said by transforming its industrial economy into a digital economy like China, Pakistan will become a part of the smart business community. China has established several data centers in its different regions – the Yangtze River Delta region, the Chengdu-Chongqing city cluster, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, and Guizhou province, he said. A similar pattern can be replicated in Pakistan for better data access. The establishment of multiple data centers will act as a key accelerator to develop new industries and technologies – artificial intelligence, blockchain development, and digital transformation. It will improve the efficiency of digital sources.
The new digital business ecosystem is necessary for Pakistan to step into the smart technology era. Moazzam emphasized that Pakistan could collaborate with China to establish a digitally smart socio-economic system where the Pakistani and Chinese experts could work jointly. The PCJCCI has organized several meetings with experts from China and Pakistan, who expressed their enthusiasm. The PCJCCI is eager to facilitate partnerships between the two countries. He added that this is crucial for Pakistan’s economic growth and progress in the future. PCJCCI Vice President Fan Yulong told WealthPK that the national computing network in Pakistan will boost seamless incoming and outgoing data flow. He said that the Chinese government is working hard to accelerate the development of the new digital infrastructure, which will help promote a smart and green digital economy. To make the operation more effective, China is planning to set up several national integrated data hubs. These advanced data clusters will have many functions besides business, such as disaster warnings, security, social networking, telemedicine, and advanced learning.
