On 23rd October,2025 The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) suspended all operations of Serene Air, grounding the airline’s entire fleet due to serious safety violations. In an official notification, the CAA stated that Serene Air has failed to meet even the minimum required safety standards. Shockingly, authorities also revealed that the airline does not currently have a single aircraft available for service.

Serene Air’s management explained that one of its aircraft had been grounded in Saudi Arabia after a bird-strike incident. The airline also submitted a special request to the CAA, asking for permission to operate flights to bring back stranded passengers from Saudi Arabia. Following the suspension of flight operations, many passengers were disturbed—some had upcoming bookings, while others were already stuck abroad. As a result, Serene Air was under significant pressure to resolve the situation.
However, the Civil Aviation Authority has now instructed that Serene Air’s Air Operator Certificate be reinstated, allowing the airline to begin importing aircraft engines and spare parts. According to officials, this move gives Serene Air another opportunity to stabilize its operations. Despite the reinstatement, the airline’s flight operations will remain suspended until all regulatory requirements are fully met. The decision to restore the AOC was issued by the Director of Flight Standards on the instructions of the Director General of the CAA.
Serene Air’s strategy has long relied on offering lower ticket prices compared to other airlines. Their reduced fares often attract many bookings, but passengers frequently end up facing difficulties because the airline does not have enough aircraft to meet the demand. As a result, flights are repeatedly rescheduled. After the recent suspension of operations, these issues have raised even more concerns among travelers.
The Civil Aviation Authority is maintaining strict oversight of the airline, ensuring that all safety and operational benchmarks are fully met before any flight services are allowed to restart.
