The Pakistan Coating Association is hosting a three-day expo from Sept 14 at the International Expo Centre, Lahore. The event, called “Pakistan Paint and Construction Chemicals Expo 2023”, aims to showcase the sector and attract buyers from the neighbouring countries. Badar Haroon, Vice Chairman Pakistan Coating Association, told WealthPK that the platform is dedicated to the promotion of Pakistan’s paints and construction chemical industries. He said the three-day expo intends to provide an opportunity to manufacturers of paints and construction chemicals as well as the allied industries to showcase their products. The event is being organized with the support of the Ministry of Commerce, Trade Development Authority (TDAP), Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI), Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI), Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) and Pakistan Afghanistan Joint Chamber of Commerce & Industry (PAJCCI).

“Pakistan has exported paints worth US$19 million and we have set a target of $70 million for the next couple of years. We want expansion in the export of quantity in future,” said Haroon. He said the expo was being organized to attract international buyers from the Gulf Countries, Africa, Afghanistan and neighbouring countries and to provide a platform to the local paint and allied industries to display their products and interact with foreign traders and local consumers. Badar Haroon said all the leading manufacturers from Pakistan are full of zeal to make this event successful, including Norson Chemicals Industries, Brighto Paints, AkzoNobel, Berger Paints, Nippon Paints, Sparco Paints, and Diamond Paints. This expo will provide a platform for Pakistani companies to introduce and showcase their latest products, technologies, and innovations, he added.

The expo will host seminars, workshops, and conferences to promote learning, innovation, and technology transfer, making the Pakistani products more competitive and attractive to the international markets. This event will prove a milestone in enhancing the trade volume by engaging with the buyers and industry professionals from the target regions, Badar said. Overall, the expo aims to position Pakistan as a reliable and competitive exporter of paints and construction chemicals while specifically targeting regions like central Asia, Africa, and the Gulf. He said technical and training sessions would also be held to educate consumers and workers about the paint quality and its uses, adding that the expo would benefit not only the local paint and allied industries but also the country’s economy as a whole.
