The world's energy needs can be fulfilled if only 16% of the Sahara Desert is covered with solar panels, said Chief Executive Officer of 3 Ray Solutions Imran Imtiaz Butt. The earth receives uninterrupted sunshine each day, which is sufficient to end the world's energy issue, he stated while addressing a conference on "Energy Saving and Efficient Use of Resources”. Each second, around 173,000 terawatts of solar energy hit the surface of the earth, which may generate power 10,000 times more than the present output throughout the globe, he added. According to Imran Butt, the world's intellectuals are becoming increasingly concerned about the energy issue and the irresponsible usage of energy resources.

The use of renewable energy sources like solar energy, wind energy, and geothermal energy is urgently required to address this significant issue, he added. He noted that the prompt and effective utilisation of biomass energy and hydropower energy can prevent a catastrophe similar to the energy crisis. He said that there is an urgent need for young students to be made aware of this issue, since doing so will be good for modern-day economic progress. He also provided examples and more explanation on how to utilise electrical equipment wisely and reduce energy loss.
