In addition, he said that such exhibitions have played a vital role in strengthening our industries, providing employment opportunities, and uplifting Pakistan's economy. Muhammad Bilal, the event planner of the FAKT Exhibition, told WealthPK that the event offered a unique platform for partnering and developing solutions for industrial and consumer needs. He said the exhibition showcased innovation in the plastic, printing, and packaging industries. In the three-day mega exhibition, over 150 companies from over 10 countries participated, including Austria, China, Denmark, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Vietnam, and the United Kingdom. He said a wide range of machinery and technology for the plastic, printing and packaging industries was displayed by the exhibitors. Bilal said that the exhibition was praised by the participants for enabling them to meet their targeted trade professionals and generate excellent business at the trade show. Over 12,000 trade visitors participated in the 3P Plas Print Pack Pakistan Exhibition, including government officials, key industry leaders, suppliers, traders, distributors, and service providers. This was a perfect opportunity for them to become acquainted with state-of-the-art machinery and technology. Owing to recent developments in the industry, the exports of plastic products rose by 82% in April 2022. Similarly, on year-on-year (YoY) basis, the exports of plastic rose by 34%, bringing $338.596 million to the country. Plastic industry has grown into a full-fledged industry due to its increased use in industrial and domestic sectors, which has the capacity to reach the rank of the second-largest economic sector after textiles. Printing is also one of the fast-growing industries. The new types of printing like screen printing, 3D printing, and paper printing give a boost to this industry. Bilal said that the 3P industry has a huge potential to contribute more to national economy. “It needs sporting government policies regarding the imports of advanced technologies. The more technological advancement comes into the country, the more the industry grows,” he said. Packaging sector is the backbone of all industries, and the government should grant industry status to it in order to reap maximum benefits. The widespread popularity of online businesses and e-commerce has increased the importance and value of the corrugated cartons sector, which proves its importance. “With increasing worldwide concerns about global warming and reduction in the use of plastic products, the companies are also looking forward to adopting new techniques to make products that are bio-degradable,” Bilal said.
