Pharmaceutical item exports swell by 26.86%

The export of pharmaceutical items from the country increased by 26.86% in the first five months of the fiscal year (2022-23) compared to the same period the previous year. According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), Pakistan exported pharmaceutical items worth $143.850 million between July and November of 2022–23, up from $113.397 million between July and November of 2021–22, showing a rise of 26.86%.

The statistics revealed that the export of pharmaceutical products increased by 92.10% in terms of quantity, from 12,359 metric tonnes to 23,741 metric tonnes. In the meantime, compared to the same month last year, the export of pharmaceutical items climbed by 33.42% in November 2022 annually.

According to PBS statistics, pharmaceutical exports in November 2022 were $31.953 million, up from $23.949 million in November 2021. In November 2022, exports of pharmaceutical products increased by 13.85% month over month, compared to $28.066 million in October 2022.
