JEDDAH, Feb 10 (INP): A passenger plane caught fire on Wednesday at the Abha International Airport, Saudi Arabia, in a terrorist attack, Saudi Gazette reported.
The terror attack was launched by the Iran-backed Houthi militia, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported, citing a statement from the Arab Coalition.
In the statement, the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen said that the fire was under control.
Calling the attack on the airport a war crime, the coalition vowed to thwart such attacks.
“We are taking all necessary measures to protect civilians from the threats of the Houthis,” the statement read.
Earlier in the day, the coalition s intercepted and destroyed two armed drones launched by the Iran-backed Houthis targeting Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The Houthi militia has stepped up attacks against Saudi Arabia recently.
On Sunday, the coalition intercepted four explosive-laden Houthi drones launched toward the Kingdom and on Saturday it destroyed one drone.
