Pakistan's Exports Increased By 24.8% in First Three Quarters of FY 2022

By Jawad Ahmed ISLAMABAD, May 11 (INP-WealthPK): Pakistan’s exports of goods and services climbed by 24.8% in the first three quarters (July-March) of the current fiscal year compared to the same period last year, reports WealthPK. According to a monthly report of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), exports of goods and services reached $28.85 billion in the first nine months of FY22 compared to $23.12 billion in the corresponding period of FY21. Exports of goods and services during March 2022 amounted to $3.74 billion against $3.17 billion during March 2021, showing a healthy growth of 18%. Exports maintained the growth momentum in March and jumped by 9.3% from $3.423 billion in February 2022. According to provisional data provided by the SBP, the export of commodities surged by 26.6% to $23.699 billion during July-March FY22 as compared to $18.713 billion during the same months of the previous fiscal year. Textile group accounted for the lion’s share of all commodities exported, and contributed over 56% to total export recipes. It brought in $13.506 billion in the first three quarters of FY22. Export of food items, including rice, wheat, fish and vegetables, accounted for $3.807 billion during the same period.
