Pakistan's climate vulnerability needs global attention: PM

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said Pakistan is one of the most vulnerable countries to climate change and emphasised the need for a global response to increase resilience. The Executive Director of the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), Inger Andersen, who is on an official visit to Pakistan, was briefed on this by the prime minister.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised UNEP's work and requested further initiatives to tackle climate change, biodiversity loss, and environmental degradation. He believed that one of today's most important challenges is climate change. The prime minister also urged UNEP to help Pakistan's efforts to rebuild better and greener following the terrible floods that struck the country. The executive director gave the prime minister a briefing on the actions UNEP is doing in Pakistan.
