Ambassador of Indonesia to Pakistan, Adam M Tugio has said that Pakistan and Indonesia should work to improve trade relations between the two countries. He expressed his wish during a call with the Federal Finance Minister, Ishaq Dar, when he appreciated the role played by the government of Pakistan in facilitating the start of joint ventures between the two countries.
The dignitaries agreed on improving trade relations between the two countries. They pledged mutual cooperation to ensure the revival of trade between the two countries. Ishaq Dar highlighted the religious, cultural and historic economic relationship between the two countries and said that countries must work to enhance people-to-people contact.
He said, “Pakistan values its relationship with Indonesia. We hope to take the necessary steps to increase trade between the two countries. We already have a healthy economic relationship.” Ishaq Dar extended the sympathy on behalf of the people of Pakistan over the loss of lives in the recent earthquake disasters in Indonesia. He also appreciated the flood relief support of the Indonesian government to flood affectees in Pakistan and said that the humanitarian support reflected the spirit of friendship and mutual cooperation.
