Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Mohibullah Khan has said that agriculture is crucial to the country’s economy and instructed the relevant authorities to guarantee the supply of on-farm water management. This would help reduce water waste, he said. Speaking at the training course’s closing ceremony, sponsored by On-Farm Water Management, he noted that the government has taken practical measures to save water, and that on-farm water management plays a significant role in reducing water wastage.
He said that several initiatives concerning water, food security, and climate change have been started by the provincial administration for the benefit of the populace. According to him, the Agriculture Department’s annual budget has climbed from Rs 2 billion to Rs 55 billion. Speaking at the event, On-farm Water Management Director General Javed Iqbal Khattak said that trainees will learn various strategies for enhancing agricultural output while applying cutting-edge on-farm water management techniques.
