New RCCI president vows to solve issues with FBR

Issues of businessmen and traders under the Rawalpindi Chambers of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) will be resolved especially the deployment of FBR staff on the business premises, vowed the newly elected president of the chambers.

The newly elected president and the executive members of the chambers have taken oaths as office bearers. Saqib Rafiq as President, Muhammad Hamza Sarosh as Senior Vice President and Faisal Shahzad as Vice President were sworn in at a ceremony held for the said reason. Sohail Altaf took the oath of office from the newly elected members for the year 2022-23.

According to Sohail Altaf who acts as group leader the country was facing a dire economic situation. He said that the inclusion of Ishaq Dar in the cabinet was a good sign that things will move in a better direction from now on. However, he said the deployment of FBR staff within the business premises amounts to harassment. This is not the kind of environment where business can flourish, he said.

Newly elected President Saqib Rafiq, while giving his commencement address as the president said that his first mission is to make Rawalpindi the hub of commercial activities and to provide maximum facilities to the chambers’ members. He said that “close cooperation with all government departments and business associations will be ensured. Working hand in hand with the government will make our businesses flourish and provide more opportunities for us to grow and compete globally.”

Senior Vice President Hamza Sarosh and Vice President Faisal Shahzad during their speeches at the event said that they will work together as a team and leave no stone unturned for the betterment of the business community.

Former Presidents Major retired Amanullah, Jalil Malik, Najam Rehan, Dr Hassan Saroosh, Abdul Rauf Chaudhry, Asad Mashhadi, Mian Humayun, Raja Aamir Iqbal, Zahid Latif Khan, Shahid Saleem, Nasir Mirza, outgoing President Nadeem Rauf, former executive members, a large number of chambers members including representatives of Anjuman-e-Tajran Sheikh Hafeez, Shahid Ghafoor Paracha, Sheikh Siddique, Arshad Awan, Taj Abbasi, Chaudhry Iqbal, President of Small Chambers Tariq Jadoon, President of Dadu Chamber Zubair Khan, and Nadeem Sheikh were also present.
