RIYADH, Jan 20 (INP): Sheikh Muhammad Al-Issa, the secretary-general of the Muslim World League, said that the league is striving to remove misinformation about the religion of Islam by using all the available means, Saudi Gazette reports. “The visit to churches delivers a message to Christians that Muslims are not against them and that Muslims are calling for peaceful coexistence with everyone with a strong conviction that the of the Creator cherishes difference and diversity.” Al-Issa made the remarks while responding to the criticism leveled against him for visiting churches. In an interview with the “Thousand Miles” program on Saudi Television, Al-Issa noted that these visits are also in response to the allegations raised by some followers of extreme right ideologies. “The MWL has gone a long way in confronting the slogans of Islamophobia. These dialogues and discourses enabled us to convert those right extremists of Europe, who are extremely hostile to Islam, into friends of the MWL,” he said while emphasizing that most of these deliberations have contributed to correcting misconceptions about Islam.
