MoU signed to help boost Pak-China cooperation

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed by a reputed university and an esteemed research organisation to help strengthen academic cooperation between Pakistan and China, WealthPK reports. The MoU was signed between Comsats University Islamabad and the Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies Pakistan. Both institutes will promote China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) to further strengthen the friendship between Pakistan and China.

According to a press release, the MoU was signed between the China Study Centre of Comsats University and the Centre for BRI and China Studies of the Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies at Junaid Zaidi Library of the former. The MoU is focused on joint research collaborations and the development of programmes to avail government and non-government research funding, academic publications and training to improve the scientific, academic and research levels of both institutions.

There will also be an exchange of experienced scholars and promotion of China-Pakistan relations, friends of the BRI forum and other important subjects of mutual interest. The exchange of information and opinions on topics related to politics, economics, social and strategic studies, international relations, foreign policy, regional and interregional development and other topics and issues of common interest to both parties are also part of the MoU. The MoU was signed by Prof Sajjad Ahmed Madani, the registrar of CUI, and Muhammad Asif Noor, the director of IPDS. Farhat Asif, the president of IPDS, and other faculty members of CUI were also present on occasion.
