RIYADH, June 13 (INP): Head of the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, Sheikh Abdulrahman Al-Sudais has said that the decision of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to limit Hajj pilgrims this is commendable.
In a statement, he said that it was a wise decision based on the principles of Islamic Sharia in performing rituals and maintaining the public health of citizens and residents.
Sheikh Abdulrahman Al-Sudais said that Hajj pilgrims have been limited to 60,000 in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic which gripped entire world.
However, organizing the Hajj rituals despite the alarming situation created due to the coronavirus was laudable, he added. The Head of the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques further stated that KSA is concerned most about the secure lives of pilgrims and decision of limiting Hajj pilgrims was also part of same strategy.
