Multan highways will be connected with motorways as part of a proposal to establish an industrial zone under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Commissioner Ashfaq Ahmad Chaudhry made this statement when a Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) delegation visited him. The commissioner told the group that the industrial estate fly-over and Nawabpur Road upgrade would be established under the CPEC. The commissioner announced that Multan Road plans and development initiatives will soon be discussed with the media and on social media.
Ashfaq Ahmad emphasised the importance of the business sector in keeping the economy moving and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving infrastructure and fostering faster economic growth. The commissioner and the businesspeople engaged in a discussion on the city and business-related issues, and both parties agreed to cooperate to develop the region and address difficulties impeding the uplift process. Mian Rashid Iqbal, president of the MCCI, underlined the need to finish development projects as soon as possible. He asked that details on the efforts for development and the current state of the work be communicated with the leading organisation of businessmen in south Punjab.
