February 22, 2023

In order to further the industrial revolution in the province, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's interim Minister for Industries, Commerce, and Technical Education Muhammad Adnan Jalil has urged more collaboration between the public and private sectors. He asserted that an economy can only become robust and unbeatable if the sectors of industry and commerce are given top priority. He was speaking at a combined meeting and consultation of the trade associations and chambers of commerce from every city in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

The issues and challenges facing the province's business and industrial community were openly discussed during the lengthy consultative discussion, which lasted more than four hours. The senior officers of the Industry and Commerce Department and all of its subsidiaries provided immediate responses on their solution and industrial and economic progress. The participants were really pleased with it and complimented the caretaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, especially Adnan Jalil, for giving them a fair hearing and inspiring trust in them.

The interim minister gave the presidents and officials of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industries and All Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chambers of Commerce and Industries, including the women's chambers, opportunities to present their issues and recommendations separately during the meeting. He assured them that their concerns would be addressed as soon as possible.

According to Adnan Jalil, the provincial government has made a commitment to the region's industrialists that it will always give priority to consultation with them and implement any suggestions and recommendations they make in order to make Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's vision of an industrial revolution a reality.

He stated that the provincial administration would work to provide whatever local investors need, in addition to guaranteeing peace, tranquillity and a favourable industrial and commercial environment, because economic development depends on the restoration of their confidence. Only in this way is an industrial revolution and an increase in job prospects in the province feasible, he added. He assured all of the chambers that the top officials from the Industries and Commerce Department will visit their cities to speak with them all soon.

They would do their utmost to address all of their concerns and difficulties as soon as possible, he added. The industry minister invited the representatives of the other chambers to participate in an open discussion after the coordinator of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industries, Sartaj Ahmed Khan, highlighted the difficulties and challenges faced by the business and industrial community throughout the province. He calmly listened to their problems and told them that he would take them into consideration right away.
