The Pakistan Furniture Council (PFC) has urged the government to ensure prompt implementation of Rs1.8 trillion Kissan Package to provide solace to the flood-affected farmers. Talking to a delegation of agriculturalists, PFC chief Mian Kashif Ashfaq said that they needed immediate implementation of the relief package so that the affected growers and farmers could reap its benefits by sowing their crops timely and meeting expenses for purchasing fertilisers, diesel, tractors and other inputs essentially required for proper cultivation.
He said that the relief must be disbursed to poor farmers under one window operation to alleviate their sufferings. He said that the best quality disease-resistant seed should be given to flood-affected farmers free of cost. Mian Kashif said that agriculture is the backbone of the economy and farmers’ genuine grievances must be addressed as a top priority without any political alignment.
