Exports of pharmaceutical products rise by 26.85%

The exports of pharmaceutical items from Pakistan increased by 26.85% in the first half of the fiscal year (2022-23) compared to the same period the previous year. According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), the country exported pharmaceutical items worth $175.025 million between July and December (2022-23) as opposed to $137.978 million between July and December (2021-22), showing a gain of 26.85%. Pharmaceutical exports increased in volume by 88.21%, from 15,197 metric tonnes to 28,603 metric tonnes.

In the meantime, compared to the same month last year, the exports of pharmaceutical items climbed by 26.83% in December 2022. The exports of pharmaceuticals totalled $31.176 million in December 2022, compared to $24.581 million in December 2021. However, compared to $31.953 million in November 2022, the exports of pharmaceutical items fell by 2.43% in December 2022.
