The exports of pharmaceutical items from the country increased by 25.10% during the first four months of the fiscal year 2022-23 compared to the same period of the previous year, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS). Pakistan exported pharmaceutical items worth $111.897 million from July to October 2022–23, a 25.10% increase over the $89.448 million shipped from July to October 2021–22.
The PBS said that the exports of pharmaceutical products increased by 82.20% in quantity from 8,970 metric tonnes to 16,344 metric tonnes. When compared to the same month in the previous year, the exports of pharmaceutical items climbed by 75.30% to $28.066 million in October 2022 from $16.010 million in October 2021. However, compared to $29.876 million in September 2022, the exports of pharmaceutical items reported a nominal fall of 6.06% in October 2022.
