A deal has been reached between the vice chancellor of LUMS and the president of The Bank of Punjab (BoP) to develop a roadmap for digital innovation and customer experience, according to a press statement received by WealthPK.
The Digital Experience and Innovation Center will give access to the creation of fresh concepts, ideas, and designs based on technology and innovation, as well as creative answers to current and upcoming problems facing the sector to support growth and productivity. The Center will also serve as a venue for mentorship and coaching for the startups as well as networking opportunities for investors and startups.
"I strongly believe in customer centricity; the digital space is a powerful way to help serve our customers by giving them access to our products and services whenever they need them. More than a year and a half ago, we started a digital journey by establishing a digital challenger bank, revealing the digital brand ‘digiBOP’ and launching a cutting-edge digital platform. There is no better way to collaborate than by teaming up with LUMS and incubation facilities to achieve our digital innovation drive,” President and CEO of BoP Zafar Masud stated at the deal signing ceremony.
Dr. Arshad Ahmad, the vice chancellor of LUMS, praised BoP's inspirational journey in a number of fields and industries and praised his senior team for showing such a keen interest in this crucial partnership with LUMS. "This partnership has the potential to usher in digital transformation and platform learning on campus and beyond, for students to become familiar with FinTech solutions, leverage their entrepreneurial dreams, and contribute to the growing IT and ed-tech sector in Pakistan," he continued.
National Incubation Center Lahore's Project Director Nauman Zaffar, shared his ideas by saying, "NICL's partnership with BoP to establish this FinTech Digital Experience and Innovation Center allows a unique co-creation opportunity where industry knowledge of BOP is combined with the energy, capability, and drive of NICL startups, and expert advice from LUMS faculty in deep-tech and digitization to allow quick conversion of new ideas to market-ready products."
