Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founding chairman and former premier Imran Khan on Friday revised the nomination for the chairmanship of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC). Imran Khan has nominated the Member of the National Assembly (MNA) from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Junaid Akbar Khan, for the position of PAC chairman. It reported in media that party revealed that the name of the nominee for the PAC chairmanship will be sent to NA Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq soon. Previously, Sheikh Waqas Akram was nominated for the PAC chairmanship.
However, the government and its allies raised objections to his nomination. The newly nominated Junaid Akbar Khan currently serves as the chairman of the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development. Junaid Akbar Khan, a lawmaker of the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC), represents NA-9 Malakand (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) in the National Assembly.
